Think Steve will still have a beard?
I predict, if he doesn't we'll see a fullscreen ipod, if he does we won't lol :D
This is precisely the kind of reconassiance that rumor websites should be providing. We need to start making serious wagers on the hygenic habits of Apple employees, it is the natural progression of product rumors. I'm talking about sitting in a smokey room, piling cash in the center of a table, greasy hair and big rings type of wagering. I'm talking fantasy rumor line ups.
Arnold SchwarzeneggerI don't think the "deserve" to be shot but if they get shot and killed while doing it, they should have known better. What if someone broke into your house and mentally harmed your family? They only deserve to be locked up for a couple of months, right?
- Joe
A better example, what if they broke into the house and shot at you multiple times. So unless they successfully kill you, they should just see a few years prison and when they are out they are free to come out and try again, over and over again until they finally do hit your sorry ass?
arnold-schwarzenegger-fitness-Apple may offer a choice of Core Duo 1 or Core Duo 2 as a BTO option.
Doing this might allow Apple to sell the Basic MacBooks and iMacs for less while
the Core Duo 2 models will be favored by those who can afford to spend a bit more.
Except that the Core Duo is no less expensive than the Core2 Duo, and because of inferior power management, is less suitable for laptops. And BTO CPU options for notebooks are unlikely, considering how they would make the product line more complicated, and they would require a change to a socketed CPU.
arnold-schwarzenegger-workouti knew i should have held on a year longer :( i guess its ebay time in 6 months for my quad 17..
Why? If you like your MacBook Pro, why the regrets if it is performing the tasks you want it to perform? I just purchased a quad 15" and I couldn't be happier. No need to upgrade or sell every time there is a refresh because technology moves so fast. Just be glad you have an awesome machine that will be awesome for years to come!
Arnold Schwarzenegger quotesWooo hooo i cant wait, allready have the money on the side.
I was planning on getting a new Macbook in oktober when i start my courses, buy decided to wait because of this.
workout towel to the gym?Isn't this iMac design from fall of 2009? That's less than two years.
I seen it as more of a mid model refresh.
TECHNICALLY been the same since 2008.
The Arnold Schwarzeneggerseems fairly solid. MR has always been very reserved in claims about the iphone, and this is a fairly bold article. i'd love to see it....i just think i'll be cursing my verizon contract and their damn cdma phones once it comes out.

Well, since the iMacs and Mac Minis are running Core 2 Duo now, what do you think of this;
Sales review
Chit-chat about iMacs with Core 2 Duo
^ Leads into the announced ment of Core 2 Duo MacBook Pros (Maybe MacBook aswell)
 New iPod
One More Thing...
iTunes with Movies.
Seems reasonable and doable. It sounds perfect for like a 1 hour event.

Conroe benchmarks posted on AnandTech (http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2795) are really good.
The overclocking features are even more impressive.
The $316 E6600 with a 2.4ghz cpu clock speed was air overclocked to 4ghz stable. ON AIR. I shudder to think of what they could do with liquid cooling.
This brings me to think another thing - conceivably Apple could forego the whole "Quad Woodcrest" setup (which will undoubtedly cost a boatload) and they could simply take a Core 2 and (with Intel's help) overclock it with the current air flow setup of the G5 case, and probably double cpu clock speed at a cheaper price.
But they won't do it. :( a) retail systems (save for the overpriced Dell XPS lineup) aren't usually overclocked and b) it would screw up their whole price scheme. It does bring up another interesting point though...people could coincidentally *possibly* overclock their [Core 2] Macs (since the technology is there in the cpu itself)...for the first time ever? We could see iMacs potentially being overclocked to outperform a Mac Pro. (if someone figures out how to do it that is)

That would certainly change my mind about getting a 20" iMac. ;)
EDIT: Anyone care to speculate on prices?
Arnold Schwarzenegger - BodyI laugh at the absurd notion of being a hero when threatened. These glorified stories of what would have happened in situation X if someone had had a gun are laughable. It doesn't work like that.
It did just happen. It did work like that. Are you laughing at the guard?

Rent-a-cops have guns? And shoot people IN THE HEAD? I'm amazed.
That said, this is pretty ******. Sure, the guy was a criminal lowlife, and he certainly deserved punishment, but I don't think he deserved to get killed. Oh well.

You seem to be unfamiliar with our court system. This case could have dragged on for YEARS, and cost Apple a TON of money--possibly far more than 100 Million.
Not really. Creative was going broke. This was the best possible outcome for them.
To Apple it could have made all the sense of a business deal.
Imagine the lawyers:
"Ride it out and you may win or you may lose and it'll cost you $200-250 million.
Pay up now, get Creative on board, don't appear to be the bad guy and close any issues with patents - now and in the future - for $100 million."

They are Dolby Surround, not Dolby Digital. Dolby Surround is just matrixed stereo audio.
Aren't you contradicting yourself? iTS movies are in 5.1, so they are in fact Dolby Digital (encoded in the AC3 or MP4 format).

Interesting. Microsoft calls these files "Programs" and always has. Nothing called an application exists in Windows, it only has programs. Seems maybe MS is a little late to this game, and they're gonna piss all over it for everyone else.

i really feel that greenpeace is trying to use the fact that Apple is the "cool" tech company to get what they want done. for instance, if Apple is bad for the environment, we hippie college kids won't think they're as "cool." Apple loves us hippie college kids and doesn't want to lose us as customers, so they HAVE to be greener - greener than all other tech companies which are JUST AS BAD AS APPLE - then the other tech companies will have to follow suit, because that's the way it is. Apple got rid of CRT displays a while ago- dell still sells them, hp still sells them... they've got friggin lead in them! ALL lcd panels contain mercury.... i mean i don't really see greenpeace's point here. i mean, yeah, i'd like apple to be the greenest, that way i'd feel better about giving them my money. but they do take back old iPods, they do take back your old computer when you buy a Mac... it's not like they do nothing. i think greenpeace is doing a pretty dumb thing here- they should be lobbying governments to make these chemicals illegal to include in consumer electronics, not attempting to bully apple. just my thoughts on the matter.
When the day comes that holographic screens make it to the market...maybe the green lust will be satiated and all will be well..unless the projector for holograms is a candy-coated ball of lead, powered by the liver of an infant.

It may be a bookkeeping trick, but it's considered part of Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP). The IRS and the SEC certainly doesn't have problem with it and ammorization is actually encouraged. Apple used the same method to record the $250 million cash investment in flash memory plants last year, as well as the $400 million it is setting aside for the new Cupertino campus. Neither of those big cash outlays really affected their profit recording.
I didn't mean to imply that it was somehow illegal or improper. My point was, even an amortized expense is an expense, and booking it as an asset doesn't mean it will produce a return on investment. All those numbers go on the expense side of the ledger, one way or another. Spread out over years or taken as a lump sum, they're still spending the money.
Does this open the door to streaming video too or will it only work for audio?
So for some unknown reason you want to send airplay from your phone to your ipad? Or have well lets see apple tv netflix send the movie to your iphone right is this it is this what your so wanting?
Maybe Android has just what your looking for? :p
So for some unknown reason, you put a nonsense meaningless reply. Try again.

then why did apple cripple the 13" macbook pro's with ****** resolution then?
Because they can. The 13" MBP is a gateway drug.
