But then again, these people would rather force everyone to pony up the dough rather than take a hit to their lifestyles.
To borrow a phrase, if you (they) don't like it, leave.
As someone pointed out in another thread, about half of colonial Americans sided with the British. After the revolution, they didn't get to split America into those who remained loyal to the British crown and those who did not. A society moves as a whole, obeys laws as a whole, or it is not a society at all.
Now that Arnold Schwarzeneggerx-box wasn't a money loser for that long. on the financial statements i think they had bing/live whatever in the same category making it seem as though they were losing money. recently they took it out.
I would call more than half its life, counting today, to be "long".

The division sold its first unit in being started (and costing money) well before that, no doubt. It didn't hit "black" until 2008. In big business, that's basically a miracle story of survival. If Microsoft wasn't making money elsewhere, you can bet it would not have even made the 360.
arnold schwarzenegger 2011Just to further clarify -- NIH syndrome is when a company chooses not to use technologies invented by other companies in its own products. They prefer to design and build the entire package themselves, in-house.
I'm not that interested in an iPhone. Apple would need to add some very unique features for me to consider buying one. What if it supported NuBus cards?
OK, that was a (bad) joke, since I think NuBus was one of those Apple-only inventions from the past.
But why would you NOT want Apple's phone, szark? Is is that you don't want a camera phone or music phone in the first place, or that you expect it to be priced too high? Without knowing more about it, how do we know it's not going to be at least as good as the phones we have now? Plus an Apple logo.

5% isn't a whole lot, considering Apple's profit margin is huge for iPods.
But considering how many iPods Apple sells, it would amount to a significant amount of money for the charity.

Because they are NO LONGER USING THE API! They give the rights to use the API to call and display the image. It doesn't give them the right to take that image and use it for something else outside of the context it was meant to be used.
they are using the OS X API in the context it was meant to be used in. as far as i can tell these images aren't loaded into the iPhone application itself and are rather transmitted over-the-air as the application is being used, thus they are being called by the OS while the application is being run and are merely being displayed through the iPhone application, its like saying you can't see any apple trademark icons through a VPN client.
Arnold Schwarzenegger couldHow sad,
I mean a person lost his life because of his actions, and the guard now has to live with the fact that he took a life. All for what - some iToys? Doesn't seem worth it. :(
Exactly.
What a waste.

I read a good tweet about this:
Password protect your phone. Password protect your computer. Nothing has changed.
The iPhone is sold on how easy it is to use and that you don't have to fiddle with things. But it's shown time and time again that despite everything they do to keep it as simple and user friendy as possible, it's not true.
Most iPhone users won't have a clue about how to do this. If Apple had actually encrypted the file this wouldn't have been this huge problem.

No keyboard, no trackpad. iPad built-in as horiz touch-surface for configurable keyboard & trackpad area, and instant-access to data on the mac thru iOS + apps. BAM! Crazytime.
Man o man would the typists be pissed.
...just like they were when the iPhone came out.
arnold schwarzenegger ArnoldHa ha, You are nuts. Let me tell you how it works.
Nobody gets rich by curing a disease. That is why diabetes, AIDS, HIV etc are all treated with "Keep you alive but not cure you drugs" that you have to buy for the rest of your life. The government and drug companies are in it together and are pure evil. Ain't nobody going to cure anything unless they can keep making money doing it. Get it? Good.
I agree that the drugs are a pretty silly "solution". Spending millions to keep people alive a little longer only makes sense if there isn't a better way to spend the money. I think it makes a lot more sense to spend money on education efforts and economic development. Education and increased economic opportunity, not drugs, are going to solve this problem.
Arnold SchwarzeneggerHeck, every trade show I ever go to has girls with their tits half hanging out wondering the halls handing out leaflets nowhere near their particular stand.
What trade show are those? I wanna go!

and what happened to that Apple patent for thousands of small camera embedded on the LCD?
Dont expect it to see the light for atleast 2-3 years minimum. Any company wud like to get it`s idea patented asap. A minor lag in getting a patent could prove disastrous. Apple has already been punched in the face by creative just coz they got the patent earlier than Apple.

I'm not sure the pros will lose the DVD drive. It'll encroch into MBA territory and pros are meant more for industry use where the drives are useful.
MBA for casual use. MBP where nothing is compromised.
13 needs a better screen though. I've just bought my first 13 MBP and the soft resolution is a bit disappointing.

As a long time PC user who is just getting frustrated with the windows experience, I am looking forward to seeing what Mac has to offer in the coming months.
I've been using Windows since 3.1 (ugh) and Mac since 1990. I use both today - Mac by choice, Windows not by choice.
I think you're in for quite a pleasant surprise if/when you make the transition.
I converted to Linux in 2007 and Mac in 2009 after using Windows since version 3.1 and don't miss a thing! It's true what they say "Mac's just work."
The resident professional Microsoft astroturfers will be here shortly to point out the error of your ways. ;)
I heard lame snide remarks like yours when USB first showed up. "Only Macs have it! Are you sure compatible devices will arrive within 22 years? What USB devices are you planning to buy? When will they be available?" You don't even have the name right. Meh.
The diehard Windows apologists have a hard time seeing beyond the monitor in front of them.

From article (http://www.10news.com/news/27421748/detail.html):
The male suspects and their alleged female accomplice then got into a silver Acura that crashed while still inside the shopping center's parking lot, Facicci said, noting that one of the men was driving and he died in the crash. He appears to have been killed by a bullet that went through the passenger window, Chula Vista Police said.
This explains the headshot as the driver was sitting in the car and they were likely still firing at the guard while attempting to get away.
