I can't wait. I liked the materials and certain aspects of the current generation, but overall it never really did it for me. I'm excited to see what they'll do next.
Arnold Schwarzenegger Workout:The real question is when will the true video ipod be released? Christmas?
workout towel to the gym?Seems believable...all those people that bought Nokia phones obviously did not care that Symbian was outdated. Why will they not buy Nokia with a much modern OS under the hood?
I bought a Symbian Nokia because I wanted a cheap 3G phone which was open and with an acceptable OS.
Obviously, that's going to be my first and last Nokia now.
I want a phone with real Java, so my most likely candidate next time is QNX, if RIM makes a good inexpensive smartphone.

Seems like this would actually discourage drunk driving knowing you'll encounter a check point on your way home.
THIS Related to this, when I'm aware that the police in my area are operating under a "no-refusal" policy, I am much, much more careful and tend not to drive if I've had anything to drink, let alone close to the legal limit.
Drunk driving is awful ass-hattery, but to restrict public information ranks up there too.
The Dark Side of PerfectionismI love Thunderbolt. Its fast, slim, elegant, occupies small footprint. Intel & Apple should have 3rd party manufacturers lining up offering these peripherals months ago before the latest batch of MacBook Pros are released. Western Digital versions of Thunderbolt HDDS are going to be released real soon - which is kinda too little too late to bask in the 10Gbps hype. No matter, I still want my own 32GB thumb drive running at 10Gbps. The one thumb drive to rule them all :0
Arnold SchwarzeneggerI believe Apple has been waiting for all the planets to align. If there is going to be a movie service there will be a true "video iPod".
They were whipped in the ass last time for the boom box release, they will be looking to gain back face this time around.

Checked Checked and triple Checked 35.9meg video compared to the original 16.8meg for the video before. They just take a while to load into the iPods memory. H264 and great quality.
Multimedia... you sure you updated your iPod?
Arnold Schwarzenegger:CMD-X does NOT cut a file and let you move it. I am in SL right now. DOESN'T work.
Well...well
The whole cut and paste concept, as it was initially implemented, was based on how in real life one was handling documents and folders, while working on your desk. You do not cut a document to move it to another folder. In real life you move it, you drag and drop.
The undo was the most nicely implemented feature of all OS.
And yes, it was MacOS.
Arnold bodybuilderThe point I was trying to make is that high commuting costs means people have to make tough choices about their discretionary spending.
I agree with that, but I fail to see how you have the wrong priorities like KingYaba suggested.
Gas is a much bigger drain then iPhones on a families monthly bills. So dealing with gas costs(moving closer, buying a smaller car, driving less, etc) is a much easier way to saving money the canceling something small like the 20 dollar data plan from the first iPhone.

Here in Sweden, the Police says that their goal is to increase safety, not catch people. I'd rather have a drunk driver stay at home because of an app warning of a checkpoint than get in the car and get caught.
That's the problem, though. People WILL go out after drinking, thinking they can circumvent the law.
Arnold SchwarzeneggerI was just about to post the same thing; the application says that it couldn't find the consolidated.db file. I even tried syncing my iPhone once more and it still didn't help. An interesting note though - I own a Verizon iPhone. I wonder if that has anything to do with it.
You're right, they say that the Verizon CDMA phone doesn't keep the log.
Okay, then it's a log of GSM cells that the phone sees and/or connects to.
The question is, where does it get the location data from? Either the phone has a complete cell id database internally, or it's using GPS, or it has to go out on the network and ask Apple's cell id servers for the location.
The researchers claim neither GPS nor network data is being used, so there would have to be an internal database, which I've never heard of. Something is missing.

There is absolutely no advantage whatsoever in having USB survive past 2.0 at this point. With 3.0 barely entering the market, there is no value in letting it get a foothold. It is pathetically obsolete compared to TB.
What is with the comments about wanting USB 3.0 on Macs? What a huge waste of time and money - you should be wanting TB on more peripherals. Even if Intel is going to be dumb enough to keep USB 3.0 around, hopefully Apple will hold the line and refuse to put it in Macs. With Apple's resurgent strength in the computer market while everyone else is tanking, that would be enough incentive to get the peripheral makers to adopt TB.
What are you talking about? Practically all SB motherboards for PC's support USB 3.0. I'm enjoying USB 3.0 speeds on my new PC, plus the ports are backwards compatible with USB 2.0.
Don't get me wrong, I can see what TB offers & I like what I see, but USB 3.0 is here to stay. Intel's support just emphasises how important a standard USB 3.0 is.
Arnold Schwarzenegger amp; FrancoI shall come back to this prediction 4 years from now, and laugh at how dumb the prediction is.
Arnold SchwarzeneggerJohn Pilgers? Does he reside in the US? Does he have a website?

He's even got an awesome interview with Julian Assange. His documentary "The War You Don't See" is a must watch though.

To quote:
"Good question raised by Guy English: Why is it OK for the new Star Wars: Trench Run iPhone game to include this image of an iPhone, when many other apps, like for example Instapaper, have been rejected for including original icon artwork that merely resembles an iPhone?"
Boom. So what now apologists?

Because the iPhone doesn't have a copyright.
of Arnold Schwarzenegger#39;sNo iPhone for me then. Cingular blows.
No iPhone for me neither. But really, unless it was out-of-the-park good, there was no change I get one anyway.
Is anyone else getting a bit tired of all this apple branding outside of the computer space? I mean, a phone? Why o why SJ?

Please be more specific when you say "wrong", in what way?
Apple owns the rights to their intellectual property, this includes images and icons of their products that they have created.
Again, as I have said previously, the way these images/icons came about was USING OS X APIs.
That's how they're wrong.

LaCie 1TB Little Big Disk (http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=11625), available Summer 2011. 10Gb/s transfer rate; copy an HD movie in 30 seconds.
LOL! You might want to ask them what the data rates on the actual hard drive (or drives) in the case is. LaCie makes nice stuff, but it's quite gimmicky to only talk about interface transfer rates when the real performance is dependent on the hard drives.
EDIT: @adk - yes I am 16, however in this situation my mother was in the car and actually encouraged me to cut the idiot off. So it's not just an age based thing.

no one uses windows phones....and for a good reason too...it sucks, it sucks, oh and it sucks....
Somebody's in denial. Just because you say it three times doesn't mean it's going to come true Dorothy. Why do you care anyway?
I was credit card in hand when these were released, but I stopped myself. I'd like to wait a bit and see the 64 bit boost (if there is any), and Leopard in general.
I feel like these are speed demons, but I can't take advantage of a lot of it due to my heavy use of CS2 and the in-between feeling of Apple's apps/OS right now.
The second Leopard is out, I'm on the 24" iMac train.
Yea, I know what you mean. Apple needs to get on the ball with that already. They have been shipping dual core machines for a while yet OS X cant truly take advantage of it. Since intel will be using more cores as time goes by it only makes sense for OS X and it's apps to be able to harness the full power of all the cores/processors. I really really hope thats what they have planned for Leopard. Maybe its one of the " Super Secret Features" ???
