Daily Mail reports a woman who was blinded when a scorned lover threw acid in her eyes has the chance to get a gruesome revenge today.

A court in Iran has given permission for 32 year-old Ameneh Bahrami to get her own back by pouring acid in the eyes of her attacker, a fellow student at Tehran University.

The court's OId Testament ruling - an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth - has sparked controversy even in Iran where medieval justice still holds sway. But Ameneh still appears bent on revenge.
Twenty-seven year old Majid Movahedi threw sulphuric acid in her eyes at a bus-stop in 2004 after he had begged her in vain to marry him.
For months he had stalked her and she was left blind and disfigured. She later underwent 19 operations.

The court awarded her £19,000 in compensation and Majid went to jail. But Ameneh did not want the money.

She wanted her attacker to suffer the same anguish she was forced to endure for more than six years.

'His mother phoned my parents. She asked for mercy.

'She said that Majid would always work for me if he could keep his eyes. But now it's too late,' she was reported as saying yesterday.

There’s power in forgiveness, not raw vengeance.

I know how Kelly feels because I lost my daughter that was 5 ½ months along. Devastating is an understatement when you loose a child. It’s the worst pain I ever felt in my life. I couldn’t mention my daughter’s name, Kiara, for 2 whole years.

It’s takes time to bounce back. But, the feelings of loss never go away and for me it’s been 14 years.

Daily Mail reports Kelly Brook has been left ‘devastated’ after losing the baby girl she was expecting with her boyfriend Thom Evans.

The striking model, 31, who was nearly five months pregnant, was rushed to hospital at the end of last week, but tragically suffered a miscarriage.

Miss Brook had announced she was pregnant after just three months of dating former rugby union international Evans.


This evening, Miss Brook was resting at her farmhouse in Kent and a spokesman for the star told the Daily Mail: ‘I can confirm that Kelly and Thom have very sadly lost their baby.

‘They request that everyone please respects their privacy at this very painful time.

‘There will be no further comment.’

A friend said: ‘Kelly is understandably devastated, she’s at home and she’s being looked after by Thom and her mum Sandra.

‘There’s nothing you can say to anyone at a time like this – she just needs to be allowed some time alone to grieve.’

Celebrities were quick to offer their condolences to the couple, with Denise Van Outen writing on Twitter: 'OMG.. That's awful news. I'm so sad for them x'

Dannii Minogue wrote: 'Sending big love to Kelly Brook and Thomas Evans.'

And Michelle Heaton added: 'Just awful news about Kelly brook.. It's happening far too frequently these days, I can't even imagine the hurt.'

The Sun reports a girl of 17 has been found dead three days after revealing: "I have a stalker!"

Emily Longley told pals on Facebook that a mystery man had bombarded her with calls, adding: "I'm really scared."

Last night a 19-year-old man was helping detectives with inquiries but was not under arrest.

Emily, from Auckland, New Zealand, was staying in Bournemouth, Dorset, while studying in the UK.

Last Wednesday, she wrote on the website: "Someone just called me. They were like, 'You don't know me but I know everything about you.'

"He kept asking me out. I hung up and they won't stop calling."

Emily was found dead on Saturday morning.

Yesterday, police stood guard at the £300,000 family bungalow where her body was discovered.

The stunning blonde, who studied at Brockenhurst College and had worked in Top Shop, recently flew back to the UK after Easter with her parents Caroline and Mark.

Scores of tributes were posted on Facebook. Her sister Hanny wrote: "RIP beautiful big sis xx."

A Dorset police spokesman said: "Police are investigating the unexplained death of a 17-year-old girl.

"A 19-year-old from Bournemouth is helping with inquiries.

"Next of kin and the coroner have been informed."

UPDATE: 2 Men arrested in connection to Emily Longley’s death

BBC reports Two men arrested in connection with the death of a 17-year-old girl at a bungalow in Bournemouth have been released on bail.

The girl, named locally as Emily Longley, was found dead at the home in Queenswood Avenue on Saturday morning.

Police are treating the death as "unexplained". A 19-year-old man and 17-year-old boy were arrested by police and later released on bail.

Dozens of tributes have been posted on the social networking site Facebook.

Miss Longley, who was originally from New Zealand, had been studying at Brockenhurst College.

'Million dollar smile'

In one message on Facebook her father Mark Longley said: "She was a real force for life.

"We all loved you honey. So much.

"It is so nice to see she was so loved. Thank you everyone for your kind words."

He said he was due to fly to England and is planning to hold a memorial in England and New Zealand.

Chelsea Sutherland added: "To me you will always be looking over us all with your million dollar smile."

Officers have appealed for anyone who saw suspicious or unusual activity in the area on Friday night or Saturday morning to contact police urgently.

TVNZ reports Police investigating the mysterious death of a New Zealand teenager in southern England are hoping results from toxicology tests will provide crucial answers.

Mystery surrounds the death of 17-year-old Emily Longley, who is thought to have died in her sleep over the weekend in the southern town of Bournemouth.
British police will not confirm the cause of death until toxicology reports are back. An inquest has begun.

A 17-year-old and 19-year-old have been arrested, but released on bail as police continue their investigation.

Longley's "unexplained" death comes two days after the she told friends she had received frightening calls from a stalker.

ONE News today discovered the house where Longley's body was found is listed to the name Turner. Her friends told ONE News 19-year-old Elliot Turner was her boyfriend but she was not sure she still wanted to be in the relationship.

Friends said Longley moved to the United Kingdom to put her life right and was thinking of attending an English university.

She had got a job in retail and was doing well in her studies at Brockenhurst College.

"To leave her family and friends behind in New Zealand and relocate to a brand new country - I think that takes a lot of strength," said Longley's rowing coach Charlotte Robertson.

Longley's Facebook page has been flooded with tributes since the news of her passing reached New Zealand

Longley moved to England two years ago to live with her grandparents. Her closest friends say she was "really loving life over there".
She grew up on the North Shore, attending Westlake Girls High School and Takapuna Grammar School.

Longley's mother has arrived in Britain to bring her daughter's body home.
Close friend Melissa Lee told TV ONE's Close Up last night that Langley, whose nickname was Barbie, was "famous on the Shore", her friend said.

Mobs of ultraconservative Muslims attacked the St. Menas church in the Cairo slum of Imbaba late Saturday following rumors that a Christian woman married to a Muslim man had been abducted. Local residents said a separate mob of youths armed with knives and machetes attacked the Virgin Mary church several blocks away with firebombs.

Police report that the violence broke out when conservative Salafi Muslims marched on a Coptic Christian church in Cairo. Some Egyptian Christians hid inside their churches to protect them during the violence.

Daily Mail reports Sony's PlayStation Network may be offline for longer than expected as the company battles to fix two security breaches.

It was due to be up and running again this weekend, but officials today announced the firm is still performing checks on the system. More than 100 million Sony gamers have had their personal details stolen in less than a month, after two cyber attacks which the company has blamed on a hacker linked to internet vigilante group Anonymous. The Japanese electronics giant made the accusations in a letter to U.S. Congress amid complaints its response to the breaches had been inadequate and tardy.

In April, the firm announced the details of 77million PlayStation Network users had been stolen.

Earlier this week it revealed hackers had also gained access to data for a further 25million customers on its Sony Online Entertainment service, including emails, birth dates, phone numbers and addresses.

On Friday Sony's senior director of communications, Patrick Seybold, said the PlayStation Network repairs had been delayed because the firm hadn't realized the full extent of the second breach.

In a statement on his blog, he wrote: 'When we held the press conference in Japan last week, based on what we knew, we expected to have the services online within a week.

The next he's in the nude hanging off a drainpipe after police burst into the brothel he was using in eastern China.


As the doors were smashed down the customer, leaving his clothes behind, ran on to the roof of the rundown apartment bloc in Changchun, Jilin province.

He then shinned down what appears to be a huge drainpipe and then ran off into the backstreets.

But he was not alone in making his escape. Moments after he appeared on the roof, two women - one just wrapped in a towel - could be seen running across the roof.

In the centre of the image another forlorn customer can be seen hiding behind a packing crate.

China has severe anti-prostitution laws and punishments including the death penalty for anyone guilty of human trafficking.

President Obama loves to hold up China as a country the U.S. needs to emulate. I wonder if Obama will have the guts to condemn China for this reprehensible action.

UK Telegraph Dozens of Chinese Christians were arrested on Sunday when police prevented an evangelical Protestant church from holding its Easter Sunday service, as the state continued its attack on protests against one-party rule.

Security forces clashed with followers of a growing underground Protestant movement that was blocked from moving into a new meeting hall near Beijing, leading to three weeks of confrontation with the communist authorities.

Worshippers from the Shouwang, or "watch tower", church were taken away in buses, some defiantly singing hymns. Church leaders had issued a "fire and brimstone" cry for the congregation to worship outside the building even if it meant arrest and prosecution.

"The devil Satan has taken advantage of the authority God has granted to the national government and is seeking to destroy God's church," Pastor Jin Tianming wrote. "His devil's claws have finally been revealed. Satan get thee behind me!"

Up to 500 members of the Protestant house church movement, unregistered assemblies of worshippers that the government bans to prevent the rise of opposition, have been detained in recent weeks. Yesterday's arrests were a continuation of the authorities' increase in repression of dissenters to stop any chance of a revolution such as those seen in North Africa and the Middle-East.

"Between 20 and 30 followers were taken away," said Pastor Jin by telephone from his home, where he has been under house arrest for the past two weeks.

The robber who got shot by the security guard got what he deserved—the dirt nap! The wages of sin—is death!

Daily Mail reports this is the terrifying moment two armed robbers stormed a Florida internet cafe, in a dramatic shoot-out which left one man dead.

Chilling footage shows the men, dressed in dark clothing and bandannas, charge into the store before being confronted by a security guard.
Customers can be seen hiding under their chairs and computer screens as bullets rip through the store.
The security guard then shoots down one of the robbers, 21-year-old Gary Bryant, who crawls away from the store to a getaway car before being dumped by his accomplices in a nearby parking lot.

Bryant later died in hospital after being picked up by police.

The dramatic shoot-out was captured on CCTV cameras at the Allied Veterans Internet Cafe in Apopka, near Orlando, early on Tuesday morning.

Incredibly, none of the thirty or so customers in the store at the time were hurt in the shoot-out. The security guard was also unharmed.

Only savages with no kind of soul can do such a thing to an innocent little girl. Teens like these belong behind bars either in jail or the zoo.

The Sun reports this is the shattered face of a four-year-old girl after a teenage lout hurled a BRICK at her.

Jersey-Lou Perry was knocked out, suffered a broken nose and lost two teeth in the attack at Grimsby, Lincs. Her father said: "I cannot believe someone could do this to a child." Distraught Kyle Perry, 23, added: "Who throws a house brick at an innocent little girl? "The coward who did this must hand himself in to the police. He could have killed her."

Kyle's daughter Jersey-Lou was hit in the face when the stocky teenager hurled the brick through a window of the dad's van. The attack happened after Kyle asked a gang of up to 15 thugs to stop kicking a football against the vehicle. Jersey-Lou, who was strapped into a passenger seat, suffered a broken nose, lost two front teeth and was badly bruised. Her face was cut as she was showered by glass from the smashed window. And shards were embedded in her skin.

A teenager has been charged over an incident in which a four-year-old girl was hurt when she was hit in the face by a brick thrown through a van window.
The girl’s father, 23, had confronted a group of youths for kicking a ball at his vehicle on Hildyard Street, Grimsby, on Thursday.
The brick came through a window, hitting Jersey-Lou Perry in the face.
The 17-year-old boy will appear at Grimsby Magistrates’ Court on Thursday charged with attempted wounding.

The specialty channel aims to “challenge the English Canadian TV news establishment,” Quebec media mogul Pierre Karl Peladeau said last year when he unveiled plans for the network.
“Far too many Canadians are tuning out completely or changing their dials to American all-news channels,” he said. “Quebecor sees an untapped market opportunity in English Canadian TV news.”

Daily Mail reports that these are the last pictures taken of two British holidaymakers the day before they were murdered in a Florida backstreet.

Pictured enjoying themselves in a bar, university friends James Cooper and James Kouzaris appeared to be having a good time as they enjoyed a three-week holiday in Longboat Key.

But the two men were then killed after they were shot in the back as they tried to run away in a run-down suburb of Sarasota, 12 miles from their holiday resort.

It comes after it was revealed the 16-year-old charged with murdering the two Britons was freed by a judge two weeks ago after he was arrested over an armed robbery.

At a charity gala last summer he heard Shozna, now 20, tell the galling story of how the bright, bubbly, 5ft 2in teenager was made homeless after having major heart surgery and faced the prospect of life on the streets.

William was so moved that he broke royal protocol by giving her a hug.



And he has now handpicked her for a golden ticket to the ceremony on April 29.



Shozna, whose surname is kept secret to protect her identity, said: ‘I’m so very excited. Kate seems born to be a princess and I think she’ll look traditional and elegant.



‘I can’t believe the Beckhams, Elton John and his husband, Prince Harry and all the little bridesmaids will be there. I want to say to Prince William: “Congratulations. Thank you for inviting me and thank you for making people feel like they are part of the world instead of being alone”.’

To Muslims, unless women are wearing burqas (burqas see below) everything else other than that is a G-String.

YNer News reports that newspaper ads for the "Trinny & Susannah Do Israel" show have sparked a row among Muslims, as they show the two British fashion advisors dressed in immodest clothing against the backdrop of the al-Aqsa Mosque and Western Wall.

Channel 10 apologized for the incident on Wednesday evening and promised to change the ads immediately.

The Islamic Movement's al-Aqsa institution association slammed Channel 10 for publishing a picture of the two women wearing strapless dresses against the backdrop of the mosque

The association released a statement saying that "the publication of such abomination against the backdrop of an image of the al-Aqsa Mosque, in order to promote a television program on fashion and clothes, is a blatant violation and a desecration of Islam's holy mosque. This is an insult to more than one and a half billion Muslims in the world."

Welcome to the latest edition of “Public fights that get on You Tube”. It’s getting to the point where I feel strange for not seeing a brawl, in-person, whenever I go out.

Daily Mail reports that diners at a Florida restaurant got more than they expected from their late night meal after a full-blown female wrestling extravaganza kicked off.

The fight involving chairs, tables, salt shakers and many other objects lying around in a Denny’s restaurant in Port Charlotte is becoming a hit on YouTube.

One woman almost lost her modesty as her black underwear was exposed, but that didn’t seem to bother her as she threw chairs and knocked over tables.

The argument began when two black women wearing skin-tight outfits began arguing with a white woman who was also wearing a skin-tight dress.

Security guards and restaurant waiters tried to separate them and take them outside as they were egged on by a number of onlookers

Let me say I fully support a woman’s rights be a slut. In fact, I consider this a civil right. There needs to be a slut law rights law not only in Canada but here in the United States.

I don’t hold with anybody who burns a president in effigy, even if the president is Barack Obama. I may strongly disagree with his policies, but he’s still the president and I pray for his and his family’s health and safety.

I don’t like them burning the Cross much either, but I’m secure enough in my faith that in the end Christianity wins, and Islam loses—huge!

The Blaze reports that Afghan protests against the burning of a Quran in Florida entered a third day with a demonstrations in the south and east Sunday, while the Taliban called on people to rise up, blaming government forces for any violence.

The desecration at a small U.S. church has outraged Muslims worldwide, and in Afghanistan many of the demonstrations have turned into deadly riots. Protests in the north and south in recent days have killed 20 people.

Terry Jones may be a nut but in this case he’s absolutely right when he says some Islamists don’t need much of a reason to turn into blood thirty savages.

If someone draws a cartoon a cartoon of Mohammed, that’s an offense punishable by death. More recently a Christian woman, Asia Bibi, is currently waiting to die in Pakistan for breaking their blasphemy laws. Pakistani governor Salman Taseer was assasinated for urging to pardon Bibi. And the assassin was applauded as a Pakistani hero by Muslim clergy.

Can the American media talk about that?


ABC News reports Terry Jones, the Florida pastor who oversaw the burning of a Koran last month, said he did not feel responsible for the violent protest at a United Nations compound in Afghanistan today that left at least 11 dead. Instead, he said the violence proved his point.

"We wanted to raise awareness of this dangerous religion and dangerous element," Jones said. "I think [today's attack] proves that there is a radical element of Islam."

The deaths followed a protest march in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif today against the Koran burning. Jones supervised while another pastor, Wayne Sapp, soaked the Koran in kerosene and burned it.

"We decided to put the Koran on trail," he told Weir. "I was the judge but I did not determine the verdict. I was just a type of referee so that people got their time to defend or condemn the Koran."

The Chinese government has just released video — as part of a public safety campaign — of what is arguably the craziest (most dangerous?) intersection in the world. It shows footage, taken by traffic cameras, of person after person getting blindsided, t-boned, or hit head on by cars, buses, and trucks going through an intersection in the Shandong province.

According to the site Chinasmack.com, the video has already racked up over 2 million views within 22 hours of being uploaded to the site Youku. That, folks, is what we call viral.
