mobile me does this, and I suspect, it will become free soon (or at least parts of it).
LOL you will not get 25 GB free from Apple, you'll be lucky if they give you 5. LOL!

GeekBoner here.
Arnold whenLook at the Story on the front page of the chicago tribune, it's true. It says right there that apple is introducing a Red iPod Nano, it's not photoshoped you goofs.
I hope you noticed the :D , because I do know that wasn't photoshopped
John Kimble, who alongThe paragraph I quoted kind of explains it.
I agree though, I'd like to see more proof if it is true.
But without the data a paragraph means nothing. Show me a map with that data on it from when location services was off.

Apple dont needhelp shifting notebooks but if they announce a new ipod you would bet that not many people would want the original ipod video over a new improved one!?
This is my hope...
The merom MBP's are available before the free Nano promotion ends. I buy a MBP and get the free Nano.
New widescreen iPod video's are released sometime after (October?) to coincide with Apple's annoucement of movie downloads on iTunes.
Then, I sell both my Nano and my old iPod video, and buy the brand new iPod video. :D
Arnold Schwarzenegger#39;s wifeThis is making me want to hold off on buying the new nano tomorrow. I'm going to an apple store to check them out. I'm sure I won't be able to keep the plastic in my wallet.

It seems Apple could just wait for Clovertown...

Am I the only one who thinks this is a non-story? You want to raise my eyebrows?... show me a time that Greenpeace, PITA or any of those other wack-o groups behaves like a bunch of grown-ups and doesn't get thrown out. Here's a headline:
Greenpeace Attends Apple Expo, Spreads Message of Environmental Responsablility Through Logical Debate and Sound Logic
Now, THAT's a headline...

Could you just calm down and shut up for now? Really, go spend your posts on other people...no need to worry about my "fanboy" behavior...after all, this is a forum devoted to Mac fans and rumors...so please leave if you don't like it.
Well, since I have to suffer from your rabid fanboyishness as well (and it seems that I'm not the only one), then surely I can say something? I mean, it's not like your posts are invisible or something. Besides, if you post public messages on a public web-forum, do you REALLY have any grounds to complain if someone replies to your post?

Red?
I wonder if I have room in my iPod collection for such a device :D .
If this is true, I would be happy to see this come to life, not because of the color, but because of the charity aspect.
Gordon Brewer#39;s wife and childPersonally I find it hard to believe that so drunk as to warrant avoiding a checkpoint will be collected enough to use the app effectively in the first place.
Miles you make a great point... You also confirm that Apple better pull them, its a pointless app because if your so drunk then you can't operate a phone let alone an app.

I've been holding out to buy a mac for a long time.
I'm currently using one that my work purchased for me, but am not sure that I could justify buying one on my own just yet.
The buying guide here shows an average of 215 days between releases. However, the latest release was something like 300+ days, so time seems to be increasing.
That said, a new release would be due between late september and mid december.
My guess is that this revision will be the one that finally pushes me over the edge. Why?
- They will almost certainly fix the stupid sharp edge
- The CPU will be fast enough for anything I need for a long time
- It will be the new generation of chassis
- Ivy bridge for lower heat/power consumption
- Lion will be released. I don't want to pay for that upgrade and I absolutely need resizable windows from all edges.
What worries me the most is:
1. Will the 13.3" get discrete graphics? If yes, I'll buy
2. Will the screen be IPS? Probably not a dealbreaker, but important.

I just quit iTunes, and reopened it. I got a message about the new iPod update. So now everyone should be able to update their iPod without restoring it. :D
Update: I just noticed that when connected to the computer the iPod's display is now a dimmer backlight. I like that, not as bright. This is very good :) :D

Arnold Schwarzenegger,The real question that I haven't seen anyone ask, is will this be Intel only or will other chipsets/manufacturers support it as well.It appears to be Intel only for now and it is a rather large controller compared to USB 3.0 ones.
Intel gave many other vendors a field day for profits by not supporting USB 3.0 on their PCH. Though this did drive boards costs up and certain vendors preferred to wait for Intel to simply include support. To be honest, it only appears to be Apple.

I have just received two copies of Aperture - what is Apple's policy on this - do I just have to go and buy upgrade two weeks later. :(
I suggest you return them quick.
Kilmer minnie sep His wife janWe waited 334 days for this? That is how long we went without an iPod update, by far the longest gap in updates, and all we get is larger storage capacity and a few new games?
In the past 2 quarters, for the first time since Apple introduced the iPod, iPod sales have declined. Last quarter, Apple sold just over 8 million iPods, down from a peak of over 14 million 2 quarters ago. The reason is because people bought new iPods, and there was no reason to replace them because it took Apple so long to update the models. Now, after all of the wait (nearly a year) and speculation about 16x9 video iPods, touch-screen controls, wireless capabilities, etc., I think this update will go mostly unnoticed to consumers and iPod sales will continue to fall. Apple needs to drastically change and improve iPod offerings if it wants to maintain its market advantage and keep the iPod fashionable.

Maybe they are revealing the new iPew so that we can plug in while saying our iPenance. Apple is reaching out to the neoconservative right with their podcasts from God. New Market....We've got a new market here....;) :D :D

As has already been explained, Mac market share has increased while viruses on the Mac have disappeared. Your 2 cents isn't worth a penny.

You guys are forgetting that last year, at a photography-related event, Apple bumped the PowerBooks. That was the event where they introduced Aperture. If it happened before, it could happen again!

This guy must be a Windoze Fanboy!
It's interesting. Every single poster here clearly disagrees with your actions (which are undeniably illegal) and your justification (including your improper blame on the woman driving in front of you). And yet, it's everyone else that must be wrong, not you.
Like I said, it's interesting.

Not quite. There are at least two other options. Fair use, and exhaustion/implied license/first sale doctrine.
The use is almost certainly fair use, and Apple's rights may very well be exhausted under the first sale doctrine. It's a thorny question of law since there is nothing in the Mac OS license that makes it clear what you can do with those icons. Apple would have been better off putting something in the development agreement about not being able to use representations of Macs, etc. But they didn't.
So your argument is that since a court of law would find this to be copyright infringement, it's covered by the development agreement.
My opinion, as an I.P. lawyer, is that it's not at all clear that it's copyright infringement, that most people would think it probably isn't, and that therefore the development agreement does not at all clearly forbid this sort of thing.
P.S.: You're saying developers just need to read the agreement. I'm saying they need to read the agreement, go to law school, and guess how Apple will interpret the facts.
Which law firm please. We'd all like to know for future reference, who to not trust our cases with. While most law has to do with the letter of the law, jury trials often are won or lost based on what the jury believes to be the intent or spirit of the law.
The british common law legal system was never intended to be like this. The lawyers have destroyed and twisted it beyond all recognition. It was originally supposed to be based on judeo-christian morals and ethics. There is not supposed to be a grey area. You are either deliberately infringing on the rights of others or you are not. The original intent was to have a court case as the last resort where parties would first try to solve the problem by talking to each other, then go to arbitration and then court as a last resort.
*Edit*
Screenshots on other sites show airflow displaying a Firefox icon. That icon is definitely not covered any implied license through use of the API on the mac. Care to explain that to us Mr. Lawyer?
hmmm..maybe a big update!? or maybe nothing...:-(
